SEEDS 4 HEEF As Hopi, we're aware of the potential held within seeds. When nurtured a seed can grow to feed many and strengthen a community. Likewise, our Hopi students, if guided and given the support have the potential to benefit their communities. With that in mind, the Hopi Education Endowment Fund (HEEF) is pleased to announce a new opportunity for donors to show their support, "SEEDS 4 HEEF". This giving program provides donors the opportunity to make a continuous commitment to the HEEF over the course of the year. By spreading their annual contribution into smaller amounts throughout the year, donors can charge their debit/credit card on a monthly basis or as timely as desired. Donors may also commit to making direct monthly contributions to the HEEF via their checking account. Monica Nuvamsa, HEEF Member enrolled in the SEEDS 4 HEEF program last year and said, "Through this program, I was able to contribute in small portions throughout the year without over-taxing my budget. Even in small amounts, I can still make a difference for HEEF, which is one way I give to my community." However, one seed does not grow a field, many seeds are required. As seeds are the foundation for a successful field, gifts to the HEEF are essential to the success of our students. Janet Regner, a SEEDS 4 HEEF donor and HEEF Member stated, "SEEDS 4 HEEF is a small but powerful way to contribute to the education needs of Hopi students. My husband and I choose to do so every month to remind us of how fortunate we are that just as others made sacrifices for our education, we do the same." Contributions to the HEEF not only support the Hopi college students across the country, but local programs such as the Hopilavyi Summer Institute (a language retention program) and the Hotevilla Ngumanki Mentorship Program. To enroll in the SEEDS 4 HEEF program or for more information contact Vernon Kahe at 928-734-2275, vkahe@hopieducationfund.org or visit the HEEF website at www.hopieducationfund.org to download a form. The HEEF is a Hopi Tribal government non-profit program qualified under section 7871(a) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. All contributions to the HEEF are tax deductible. |
