HEEF Student Story Form

Hello there students! At the HEEF we fundraise everyday to people by sharing the journey and success of our Hopi students. We are a small tribe of roughly 15,000 in number and are not gaming funded. Therefore, through the HEEF, we creatively raise funds for our Hopi students to pursue an educational experience. Sometimes, we receive $5 on a monthly basis and occasionally we will receive a big $1,000+ donation. These gifts come from people around the world who grew to admire and respect the Hopi people and the culture. They love to see how students are using their education to make an impact in their small community and to overcome barriers. You can help us by allowing us to tell your story so we can create even more impact and provide more funding opportunities through the power of story.

The Hopi Education Endowment Fund (HEEF) was established in 2000 as a segregated fund of the Hopi Tribe. It operates under a Hopi tribal ordinance as a public benefit program for exclusively educational and charitable purposes. Under Section 7871 of the Internal Revenue Code, tribal government instrumentalities, such as HEEF, may receive tax deductible donations from individuals and corporations, qualified charitable distributions from individual retirement accounts, and grants that count as qualifying distributions from private foundations. For more than 22 years, the HEEF has been building a fund that ensures opportunities for education will always be available for Hopi students.
